Pencil Drawing Tips...


"A pencil is an artist's best friend" So..it is very important to have an idea about pencils.
I use several types of pencils for my artworks which are fit for me.But some artists use 1 pencil for lots of work.So it is depend on your style of drawing.
Normally I use 6B,2H,HB,B,2B and 4B for my drawings.
2H,HB and B for shading and for finishing touches I use 2B,6B and 4B.
You also can try with these types of pencils but it might not be suit with your style.But,don't worry... After few pencil drawings you may get to know which pencils are fit for your fingers.
There are some details about types of pencils below,

Grades of graphite - The grades range from numbers 2 to 9.There are some letters to verify whether it is hard "H" or soft and bold "B".So there are several grades such as,

  • HB - hard and bold
  • B   - soft,bold
  • F  - fine point
  • H  - hard
So the correct order you'll find it , 9H,8H,7H,6H,5H,4H,3H,2H,H,F,B,HB,2B,3B,4B,5B,6B,7B,8B and 9B.
